"The tightening of the visa rules is not intended to keep out excellent students from India to come and study in UK. We are trying to tackle colleges that do not have a proper education framework and exploit students coming from abroad. What we can’t have is an abuse of the system. Indian students pay full fees and, therefore, it is in their interest that they receive quality education from accredited institutions. There are currently around 40,000 Indian students studying in the UK, as compared to only 500 British students in India."
