SPJIMR professors Ajinkya Navare and Renuka Kamath have been honoured with the prestigious ‘Best Paper of the Conference Award’ and the ‘Best Paper of the Track Award’ (Indian Management Wisdom and Advancement) at the 10th Indian Academy of Management (INDAM) 2025 Conference, hosted by IIFT Kolkata.
Their research paper, 'Selling with Spirit: How Karma Yoga Principles Transform Sales Performance' bridges Eastern philosophy with Western management practices. Prof. Navare shared, ''By exploring how Karma Yoga principles can enhance sales performance and reduce burnout, we hope to contribute to the growing dialogue on positive organisational behaviour and well-being in the workplace. We analysed data from 323 sales professionals in India’s FMCG sector to uncover new insights into the potential of Karma Yoga in transforming sales practices.”

Prof. Sekhri’s award-winning paper, ‘Brand profanity: Impact of euphemistic swearing on perceived hedonism and brand preference’, explores the intriguing trend of food brands using euphemistic swearing or subtle references to swear words.

The fourth weekend of SPJIMR's GCPE programme was a blend of learning and practical insights. Conducted in hybrid mode, the weekend began with an engaging session on finance in business, led by Sapna Malya, Associate Professor of Finance & Economics at SPJIMR. Participants gained a deeper understanding of managing the key financial variables essential for entrepreneurial success.
This was followed by an impactful session on communication & elevator pitch by Priyesh Shah, co-founder of CoinBazaar India. It helped the participants in crafting compelling elevator pitches.
The weekend concluded with sessions on design and prototyping facilitated by Girish Nair and his team from Curiosity Gym. Participants explored user-centred design thinking, prototyping, and the fascinating world of the Internet of Things (IoT), equipping them with innovative tools for their entrepreneurial journey.
