We are pleased to introduce HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja!
HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaja is a senior disciple of Śrīla A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda and has dedicated more than five decades to serving Śrīla Prabhupāda and spreading Kṛṣṇa conciousness.
Sent to India by Śrīla Prabhupāda, he played a key role in the early development of Śrī Māyāpur, overseeing construction, agriculture, preaching, book distribution, and community development. He travelled extensively throughout Bengal and Bangladesh, developing Nāma-haṭṭa and later Bhakti Vṛkṣa as systems for congregational preaching and devotee care. He also played a major role in Food for Life, pilgrimage programmes, and the development and promotion of Śrī Māyāpur.
Jayapataka Swami Maharaja has served as a member of the GBC since 1976 and has held numerous international leadership responsibilities, including service in congregational development, devotee care, outreach, Mayapur development, and the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust. He continues to serve as a spiritual master, GBC leader, and co-director of ISKCON’s international headquarters in Śrī Māyāpur.
He has also contributed to GBC College's educational mission through online courses, Zoom lessons, and in-person lectures.
Through decades of extensive travel, teaching, preaching, and personal guidance, Jayapataka Swami Maharaja continues to inspire devotees across the world through his dedication to the mission of Śrīla Prabhupāda.
