Shri Gauridutt Mittal Junior College is run under the aegis of “The Balak Education Society”.

“The Balak Education Society.” was formed in the backdrop of India’s struggle for independence. It was therefore logically guided by the old adage:
‘Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive. The “Balak Education Society” was founded in the year 1936, with the primary objective of providing value-based, relevant and good education intertwined with character building and inculcating a spirit of national fervour among the students. Till MAY 1966, the School was run in a rented building at Matunga under the name of “BALAK MANDIR HINDI HIGH SCHOOL”. From its humble beginnings at Matunga, Mumbai to its present location at Sion (E), Mumbai, the history of the institution has been the result of dedicated, pragmatic, progressive, relentless and untiring efforts of the management and staff of the institution

आज विद्यालय में ' हिंदी दिवस' के उपलक्ष में आयोजित कार्यक्रम का आरंभ निदेशक महोदय श्री आर. व्ही. सिंह जी तथा प्राचार्या श्रीमती सुनंदा जी द्वारा मां सरस्वती के समक्ष दीप प्रज्ज्वलित करके किया गया। विद्यार्थियों द्वारा सरस्वती वंदना व हिंदी वंदना प्रस्तुत की गई । PPT के माध्यम से हिंदी दिवस की शुरुआत, उद्देश्य और आवश्यकता का चित्रण किया गया । शिक्षक - शिक्षिकाओं द्वारा मत प्रस्तुत हुए। विद्यार्थियों द्वारा कविता,कहानी, दोहा अंताक्षरी के कार्यक्रमों ने सभागार को नव चेतना प्रदान की। इस उपलक्ष में आयोजित गीत प्रतियोगिता में भी अति उत्साही रही ।
