Ever wondered what actually happens inside your body during chemotherapy? 💉🧬
Chemotherapy isn't just "one treatment" — it's a targeted process designed to attack fast-growing cancer cells. Here's a simple breakdown:
🔹 How it works: Chemo drugs travel through the bloodstream and target rapidly dividing cells — which is why cancer cells are affected, but so are some healthy cells (like hair follicles and gut lining) that also multiply quickly.
🔹 How it's given: Through IV infusion, oral pills, or injections — the method depends on the cancer type and treatment plan.
🔹 Cycles, not one-time doses: Chemo is usually given in cycles (with rest periods in between) to give your body time to recover and rebuild healthy cells.
