Our young stars stole the show today at the SPXIS Annual Day 2023-24. From their presence on stage, right from donning their mesmerizing costumes to handling props, to the synchronization and confidence on stage, all of it was truly a marvel.
We were thrilled and honoured to have Dr. Mildred Lobo, Principal of Bunt Sangha's S.M. Shetty International School & Junior College as the Chief Guest for this celebration. Her presence and inspiring words provided encouragement to our students and insightful thoughts to our parents.
A big thank you to Ms. Asmita D'Souza for showcasing 'The Jungle Book' through an outstanding musical extravaganza. Right from the costumes, dialogue delivery, dance choreography, choir, decor and final performance on stage, all of it was flawless and outstanding.
Our Annual Day was a true showcase of talent, unity and school spirit! Kudos to all involved for putting together an extraordinary show on stage.

SPXIS enthusiastically marked National Science Week from February 26th to February 28th, 2024. The event commenced with a captivating session led by a guest speaker, who happens to be one of our esteemed parents, discussing the theme of 'Healthy Eating and Label Reading'. Additionally, students were treated to an enlightening documentary screening titled 'Hidden Lives of Pets' exploring the intriguing concept of animals blending in with their surroundings.
Moreover, a special assembly was organized to delve into the importance of commemorating Science Day, fostering a deeper appreciation for scientific inquiry and innovation. The highlight of the week culminated in an impressive showcase featuring an array of meticulously crafted science experiments and models, reflecting the ingenuity and creativity of our students.

CIPP 1 students participated in a fun activity focused on Working Together in their GP class. During this activity, they were asked to work with a partner. The activity involved sitting on the floor back to back while holding hands, and then attempting to stand up together without letting go.
Through this simple activity, children learned valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, and cooperation. They discovered the importance of working together towards a common goal, as they had to coordinate their movements and rely on each other for support.
Moreover, this activity emphasized the significance of trust and reliance on one another.

Mother Language Day was joyously celebrated at our school yesterday. Students adorned themselves in vibrant traditional attire, passionately expressing themselves in their native languages. The air resonated with the melodious recitation of poems, and the aroma of diverse regional cuisines filled the corridors as students proudly shared food from their mother states, fostering a beautiful celebration of linguistic and cultural diversity.

Our little learners of CEYP 3 showcased their artistic skills and creativity during our Purple Day celebration. Each child eagerly participated by crafting their own unique bunch of grapes. The classroom was filled with laughter and excitement as they shared their creations and stories behind them. It was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the activity.

By organizing a market day, CIPP 5 students got hands-on experience in planning, setting up, and running a small business. This can help develop their entrepreneurial skills, such as decision-making, marketing, and customer interaction.
Students were dressed up like vegetable vendors and created placards in Marathi for vegetable names. It added a creative and fun element to the learning process. It engaged students in a more interactive way and allowed them to express their creativity.
Interacting with their teachers as customers allowed students to practice communication skills, customer service, and negotiation β essential skills in any entrepreneurial venture.
Integrating the Marathi language and cultural elements into the activity helped students connect with their local culture, making learning more relevant and meaningful.
Through the buying and selling of vegetables, students gained a basic understanding of financial transactions, budgeting, and the concept of profit and loss.
Overall, the market day activity was a well-rounded educational initiative that combined various skills and aspects of learning, making it a valuable and enjoyable experience for grade 5 students.π

Ellie, the animatronic empathy-building elephant, created by PETA India, made a captivating appearance at our school. Voiced by the talented , Ellie enlightened our students about the significance of elephants residing in their natural jungle habitats and emphasized why they should never be subjected to the exploitative practices of circuses, rides, or other events.

Our children were taken for field trip to Ovalekar Wadi butterfly garden at Thane. They were taken on trek around the garden area and taught about various types of butterflies, their phases and variety of plants required to have them around.
It was a guided tour where children could walk around nature and enjoy the sight of a variety of plants, trees and butterflies around them. At the end of the session, fully grown butterflies were released into the environment. We were happy to take our kids through this educational nature tour.
