Today, 28 Jan (Wed), marks five years since its founding. Over this period, the school has grown into an institution grounded in purpose and impact. What began with the vision, “To redefine the paradigms of business education through evolutionary thinking and relevant knowledge, and thereby become a focal point for new age learning and leadership”.

Reflecting on the milestone, Dr Saravanan Kesavan, Dean and Professor of Operations, BITSoM, underscored the significance of as a moment of both celebration and introspection. He highlighted the importance of assessing the progress made so far, while remaining mindful of the responsibility leaders carry in creating positive and lasting impact beyond organisational and personal success.

The five-year milestone also serves as a reaffirmation of BITSoM’s mission, “To use holistic and future-forward pedagogy to mould visionary gamechangers and enable them to make a positive impact on the world.”

The BITS Pilani Mumbai Campus marked the 77th Republic Day of India with a campus-wide celebration that brought together the communities of , , and in a shared expression of unity, pride, and commitment to the constitutional values that shape the nation.

The celebrations commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Prof. (Dr.) Vishwas H. Devaiah, Acting Dean and Professor of Law, BITS Law School, symbolising India’s democratic sovereignty and constitutional legacy. He was accompanied by Col. Ashok Dogra, Head - Admin & Facilities, and Mr. Mayank Akole, Deputy Registrar, BITS Pilani Mumbai Campus, marking the ceremonial opening of the programme.

Delivering the keynote address, Prof. (Dr.) Vishwas H. Devaiah remarked, “The journey of the Constituent Assembly in crafting a ‘living Constitution’ amidst immense challenges stands as a testament to unity beyond caste, religion, language, and region. The resilience of India’s democracy calls upon educational institutions to play a vital role in nurturing a mature and participatory democratic culture.”

The programme was further enriched by cultural performances by students, celebrating India’s diverse heritage through music, movement, and storytelling. The performances reflected the spirit of patriotism, unity in diversity, and the vibrancy of India’s democratic ethos.

The ceremony also featured a solemn reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India by Lt. Col. Jitender Kumar (Veteran), Head of Security, BITS Pilani Mumbai Campus, reinforcing the core values of Sovereignty, Socialism, Secularism, Democracy, Justice, Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity that guide the Republic.

The celebration concluded with a renewed sense of purpose, inspiring the campus community to embody the values of the Constitution through learning, dialogue, and action.

hosted the "Human Library" event at the , Mumbai Campus, creating a space for students to engage in open conversations with alumni across batches and professions. The format moved beyond formal achievements, focusing on career journeys, key choices, setbacks, and learnings that are often left out of resumes.

A key moment during the session was the launch of BITSoM’s first alumni newsletter, "The Bridge", inaugurated by Dr Saravanan Kesavan, Dean and Professor of Operations, BITSoM, along with Sandhya Prakash, BITS Pilani alumna. The launch highlighted the importance of sustained alumni engagement in strengthening the school’s community.

The event was jointly organised by the Alumni Relations Committee (ARC), BITSoM, in collaboration with BITSAA. Alumni speakers included Amit Bhagat, Ankeet Bhat, Priya Jadhav, Rajat Gupta, Rajesh Ramakrishnan, Ravi Menon, Roshni Chhabra, Sandhya Prakash, Sanjay Anand, and Sukhnandan Vohra, who shared perspectives from a range of career paths.

The programme also featured discussions around two alumni-authored books. Rajesh Ramakrishnan shared insights from "The Nurturing Quotient", reflecting on leadership and growth, and presented signed copies to students. Sandhya Prakash spoke about themes from "The Shifting Sands of Saudi", drawing from her professional and personal experiences.

The event was attended by Ms Nandita Abraham, Founding Dean, BITS Design School, adding to cross-institutional dialogue. Cultural performances by BITSoM students and BITS Pilani alumni were also part of the programme.

Following the main session, students participated in smaller "human circle" breakouts with alumni. These conversations enabled deeper discussions on career decisions, challenges, and lessons learned, reinforcing the idea of one connected BITS community.

We are pleased to share the inauguration of Batch 2 of our 6-Month Executive Certification in Product Management with Generative & Agentic AI programme, offered in collaboration with Masai.

Led by Programme Director Dr Srinivas Rao Pingali, the cohort includes professionals from across India, with more than 10% joining from international locations. The response after Batch 1 shows the growing interest in product and AI skills.

The inaugural session was also joined by Arun Nandewal, Senior Product Manager at Microsoft, and Yogesh Bhat, Co-Founder of Masai School.
