How to Improve 'English Spelling' of Your Child.

SPELL BEE ACADEMY is in the forefront of Spelling education. We have an "ANNUAL LEARNING PLAN" for children of every grade/class (from Nursery / Prep to Class 10).

Any child from any country can register for it any day of the year. Schools are not involved in any manner with this program.

The Annual Learning Plan (ALP) is fully designed by Debashis Pati, a Spelling Habit Creator. He is the Founder of Spell Bee Academy. He has authored the maximum number of Spelling books as well as Spelling tests, in the world. All the contents of the ALP are his copyright.

He believes that every child must reach the milestone of correct spelling knowledge of 10,000+ words by Class 7. ALP is designed towards that.

Further, ALP provides the environment of regular tests and multiple exams. We learn maximum, when we prepare for exams (with good study material and sufficient time on hand to learn).

1. What does this "Annual Learning Plan" (ALP) include?

It has 3 parts:

(i) Every Sunday Tests

Every Sunday, 'live' Spelling Tests on ZOOM, are to be done till April 2026, and then give the Speller Bee International exam.
This is a 'world record' program that is being conducted live, 'non-stop for 5 years' now, by the same Spelling Dictator.

This process does not involve preparation of the tests. It is about taking the tests every week, knowing your mistakes and learning the mistakes during the week itself.
No preparation and no stress at all, for the students and their parents. There is no dress code as well.
Tests can be taken wherever there is access to the internet - in the car, at a mall, outside a marriage hall, at the airport, at a park, at an activity center, etc.

(ii) Spelling Certificate Exams

H&D International Spelling Bee Olympiad exams (number of exams varies across grades) to be given by April, 2026.

For Nursery there is no exam. For Junior KG there is 1 exam, for Senior KG to Class 5 there are 6 exams, and for Classes 6 to 10 there are 2 exams.

Learning material is provided online. The exams are online, and the certificates are provided online.

(iii) Spelling Tests

These are available for practice only, and are not part of (i) and (ii) above.

2. For which grades/classes is this ALP suitable?

Nursery/Prep, Junior KG/LKG, Senior KG/UKG and Classes 1 to 10.

3. What is the fee for the ALP?

We charge One Time fee only for the total plan.

It is the same for all grades, and all countries.

No other fee is charged later for study material, exams or certificates.

For the 'First Timers' (those who are registering for the Sunday Tests for the first time) it is Rs 1000.

And for the 'Repeaters' (those who have registered for the Sunday Tests in an earlier year) it is Rs 2500.
The above is valid till the end of the current plan (till April 2026).

4. What are the timings for the EVERY SUNDAY TESTS?

Grade mentioned here is for the academic year, 2025-2026. It is the same across all countries.

# Senior KG : 7:30 pm IST
# Class 1 : 11:30 am IST
# Class 2 : 11:45 am IST
# Class 3 : 12:00 noon IST

5. My child is too young now and is in Nursery / Prep, Jr Kg / Sr KG. How can he/she take the SUNDAY tests?

Parent(s) can accompany child in each tests and help as deemed fit (by being on mute). Even write for the child. Following the process is key. Together your child can do it.

6. I do not stay in India. Can my child participate?

Yes, any child from any country can.

Till date, we have had students from every inhabited continent of the world.

7. Are there any Spelling Workbooks / Books that I can buy separately?

Yes. Note the same have nothing to do with our Annual Learning Plan.

The books can only be shipped to addresses within India.

You buy the books directly from us at our store (Phonics eStore) at amazon.in.

All the books are made available under the brand name Pati's. It is a registered trademark with the Government of India.

8. I do not stay in India. How can I buy the books?

Well many parents have been following this process over the years.

They buy it from an Indian address at amazon.in. We ship it there. From there, their friend / relative or they themselves take it along with them, when they are returning from their trip to India.

There is no change in price for you. Ideally, you should decide on the books well on time, in coordination with us, so that everything happens on schedule.

9. Are there any free Spelling learning resouces?

10. How can I get few of my queries answered?

Before registration, a parent can 'request' (vide whatsapp messaging) for a brief discussion (of about 5 minutes) with us. Before the call, please do read details provided on this website, after clicking on the button for ALP, and then on the button for your child's grade. This will help us be more productive in our 5-minute call.
