Stemming from growing concerns over algorithmic bias, misuse of consumer data and glaring absence of emotional intelligence in AI, I’ve taken on the role of 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻, 𝘂𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 "𝗔𝗜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹", alongside other commitments around leadership development.
Having led innovation for brands with emerging technologies, I know how tempting it is to jump onto the AI bandwagon. But this is different and must be managed well. I feel that as brands build the next LLM, agentic AI or predictive engine to deliver hyper-personalized, precision-driven experiences, we must also 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
Also, in a country as richly diverse as India, we cannot afford to leave the marginalized, the underrepresented and the unheard behind. AI must be designed with 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 - not just the loudest, most funded, or most technical. During AI's development and deployment lifecycles, it’s essential to have the 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗽, those who bring empathy, ethics and diverse lived experiences into AI design and decision-making.
The media and marketing ecosystem has long shaped society’s beliefs. As 𝗔𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, it’s now an imperative to ensure that the data we feed, the insights we extract and the campaigns we run are 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁.
To kickstart this initiative, I'll be championing inclusivity while accelerating the role of Women in AI (before it's too late) and pushing for scalable, ground-breaking work in AI-driven marketing that drives meaningful engagement, transformative creativity and measurable outcomes—key themes echoed in the newly launched 2025 SMARTIES AI Marketing categories:
• AI-Powered Audience Engagement
• Innovative Use of AI in Advertising
• AI-Driven Creative Excellence
