A big thank you to all parents, guardians & students from our Department of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS) for attending the 'Parent & Teacher Interaction Meet' organized by the Department on Saturday 16th November 2024. Our institution now under the 'Autonomous' category with a completely upgraded curriculum from the first year & second year onwards, it is not only essential but also important to have an open communication channel with all stakeholders to ensure our students get the best of academic inputs, resources, guidance & mentoring for a successful career ahead.

Our training & placement cell in association with the Department of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS), under the flagship initiative SPHERE (Supporting Placements & Higher Education Requirements in Engineering) successfully organized an informative & interactive session about 'Higher Education & Career Opportunities' in the Republic of France 🇫🇷.

Conducted & organized by Prof. Jayen Modi from the Department of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS) along with student coordinators Vrushank Arur, Lisa Pereira & Sharwin Gawad, the primary objective was to break the typical stereotype of pursuing higher education in only a few selected countries in the Western Hemisphere but instead focus on what other technologically advanced nations like France have to offer. This not only opens new avenues for our students in terms of looking for other (& maybe better) career options but also gives them a fresh, new perspective to widen their horizon.

We are extremely thankful to Campus France & above all Vanisha Hemrajani for her hardwork & efforts in coming down to our college for an extremely educative, interactive & informative session. She spoke on several aspects about the strong Indo-French relations 🇮🇳 🇫🇷 be it the geopolitical or cultural or economic or technological sphere & busted several myths about choosing France as a study abroad destination.

With further support & requests from our students such awareness sessions & campaigns can be conducted in the near future. I wish to thank all participating students for their presence in learning something new & out of the ordinary !

Our department students from SE ECS & TE ECS attended a one-day hands-on practically oriented workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) & other related advanced technologies such as 3D printing, additive manufacturing etc.

All of this was on Thursday, 10th October 2024, at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) Idea Labs, headed by Dr. Y. Srinivasa Rao, Vice Principal & Dean Academics, R&D. Meticulously organized & coordinated by Prof. Flynn Jiu, this experience was a novel one in itself that it gave students a hands-on & practically oriented real-life, real-world approach.

Be it soldering, fabrication, or demonstration of advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive manufacturing or 3D printing, such workshops are currently the need of the hour in order to give our students the competitive edge which ensures holistic development.

Well done Desmond Antony & Aarush Wasnik, both from the Department of Electronics & Computer Science (ECS), Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (Fr.CRCE) for their respective on-campus placement at Accenture.
