Day 09 took the batch out of the classroom and into Sky City Mall, Borivali, not as shoppers, but as management students learning how a business is run.

Split into teams across Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR, Customer Experience, Technology, Retail Strategy, and Sustainability, students spent the afternoon observing everything from store layouts and pricing to staff behaviour and digital payments, then compared notes across brands to spot what's working and what isn't.

Each team was expected to compare practices across brands, note both strengths and gaps, and back their observations with real examples rather than personal opinions. The day wrapped with each team preparing a short presentation covering their key findings, best practices identified, and three actionable recommendations, assessed on the quality of observation, analytical thinking, and the strength of their recommendations.

Sometimes the best-case study isn't in a textbook. It's in a mall on a Friday afternoon.

Day 8 turned the focus toward what comes next. The morning began with a Placement Primer, giving the batch an early, practical look at what lies ahead career-wise.

This was followed by an introduction to the various Cells and Committees at TGBS, the groups and spaces where students go on to take initiative beyond the classroom.

The day then moved into a Team Building Workshop, built around a simple idea, that fun and learning aren't opposites. It's usually somewhere in between the two that real bonding happens.

The day wrapped up with a session on learning outcomes and feedback, a chance for the batch to reflect on the week and share their own thoughts on it.

Eight days in, and Batch 2026-28 is starting feel more like a group finding its own rhythm.

Day 7 leaned into a different kind of learning. The morning began with a motivational video and discussion, giving the batch a moment to reflect before the week's pace picked back up.

From there, time in the library, exploring the space and settling into some quiet reading, paired with an activity that turned it into more than just a walkthrough.

Post lunch, the batch went out for a sports session at the institute turf for a round of sports that brought out a different kind of energy altogether.

Seven days in, and Batch 2026-28 is learning that growth shows up in more places than a lecture hall.

Day 6 of the TGBS Induction Programme began with a Code of Conduct session led by the HODs, setting clear expectations and laying the foundation for the Batch of 2026–28.

Our esteemed Director, Dr. Shuchi Gautam, then welcomed and felicitated the guest speaker, Mr. Gaston Dsouza, who delivered an insightful session on Communication Skills for the 21st Century, highlighting the enduring value of effective communication in an ever-evolving world.

Following lunch, Mr. Chandrahas Halai engaged the batch with a thought-provoking session on Solving Modern Problems with Ancient Indian Mathematics, demonstrating how timeless principles can offer fresh perspectives on today's business challenges.

Six days into the induction, the Batch of 2026–28 continues to gain insights that blend tradition with innovation, preparing them for the future with knowledge drawn from both the past and the present.

Old wisdom. New skills. One future-ready batch at TGBS.

Day 5 brought a mix of structure and stillness. The morning began with a session by Board Infinity, followed by an exam that put the week's learning to the test.

Post lunch, our esteemed Director welcomed and felicitated the guests, Ms. Shruti and Ms. Shruti, for a session on Dance Movement Therapy, exploring the connection between mental health and the body, conducted in collaboration with Ang Tarang.

Movement, breath, reflection, not the kind of learning that happens at a desk, but every bit as valuable.

Five days in, and Batch 2026-28 is discovering that growth doesn't always come from a lecture hall.
