In sequelae of ACS drugs in opd as emergency.....

Third most important drug is Heparin

*Note : Almost 10 % of MI arteries open just with heparin*

So , u can imagine its importance in ACS patients...

When it should be given ?
As early as possible, because in MI patient: *time is equal heart muscle* , if you waste time , u r wasting patients heart muscle , once heart muscle is dead it never regenerates ,so every effort should be taken on emergency basis to give patency to blocked arteries.

Dose ?
Enoxaparine is easy to give on opd basis. Rout is subcutaneous.
( Dose is 1 mg / kg ..... 0.1 ml inj contains 10 mg enoxaparing )

*So dose of enoxaparine for adult is 0.6 ml subcute*

Other option is conventional heparin i/v 4000 IU.

In Hospitalised patient how many days to continue?

If Angioplasty done successfully , no need to continue.
If patient managed conservatively, like in non tertiary care centre , give it for at least 7 days .
