Angle tells about the rotation and the amount of
rotation of a certain parameter. Therefore, in physics, angular displacement and the terms used in the rotation part are concerned with angles. There are three major types of angles heard, they are right angle, an acute angle, and an obtuse angle. However, there are seven major types of angles present.

•Zero Angle (0° in Measure)

•Acute Angle (0 to 90° in Measure)

•Right Angle (90° in Measure)

•Obtuse Angle (90 to 180° in Measure)

•Straight Angle (180° in Measure)

•Reflex Angle (180 to 360° in Measure)

•Complete Angle (360° in Measure)

In Geometry, there are five fundamental angle pair relationships:

• Complementary Angles.

• Supplementary Angles.

• Adjacent Angles.

• Linear Pair.

• Vertical Angles.

♦WHAT IS AN ANGLE AND PAIR OF ANGLES?

When two lines share a common endpoint, called Vertex then an angle is formed between these two lines is known as the pair of angles. Below is the pictorial representation of the pair of angles.

WHAT ARE COMPLEMENTARY ANGLES?

Two angles are called complementary angles if the sum of their measure equals 90°. In other words, if two angles add up to form a right angle they known as complementary angles. Each angle in the pair is said to be the complement of the other.

The word ‘complementary’ came from the Latin word ‘completum’ meaning ‘completed’. To become complementary angles, the two angles do not need to be adjacent. If they are adjacent they will form a right angle.

If the measures of two angles sum up to 180°,
they are called supplementary angles. You’ll notice that when this pair of angles are adjacent, they form a straight angle. Each angle is called a supplement of the other.
