Special Educator and Arts Based Therapist (course conducted by WCCL-Pune )
Special educator administers the educational assessments and on the basis of the assessment works out a Remedial programme (to work on the areas of difficulty using the appropriate learning style) to suit the individual needs. This is called as Remediation. The psychologist conducts the psychological testing and also takes up counselling sessions wherein the client is guided. The therapist has worked with children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) using the Arts Based Therapy. While working with children the child is assessed for all the areas and thus then identifying the strength on the basis of assessments and testing Individual Educational Plan would be drawn, integrating the support of parents and other professionals. The focus of the institution will be to bring out the best in the child. The institution also believes that the parent and the teachers’ plays a great role in child’s development hence reaching to parents and teachers would also be of utmost priority. Services rendered at evolve are individualized and to the needs of the child. It focuses on developing skills, concepts and applying these learnt skills using various strategies. Services offered:
-Psycho-educational assessments and testing: are conducted by special educator and psychologist.
-Assessment helps in identifying the concerns and the areas to be remediated or worked upon.
-Arts Based therapy: the special educator is also a trained Arts Based therapist, along with the various learning styles, also integrates the other forms of arts which is therapeutic and helps the client achieve academic skills as well as bring in behavioral changes. Activities involving parents: Parent participation during remedial sessions, participating in activities involved with children, awareness programs for parents to help them deal with children at various stages of life. Activities involving teachers to develop awareness about various diagnosis and how to deal with them in the classroom setup
Activities and workshop for children: study skills and strategies, life skills appropriate to the age and grade.
