The IQAC and the Department of Economics of Vikas College of Arts, Science & Commerce successfully organized a "Seminar on Career Counselling" on the evening of 21st September 2026.
​The seminar was led by Prof. (Ms) Neha Saroj, an esteemed Assistant Professor from SIWS College, Wadala. Bringing her specialized experience as both a Soft Skill Trainer and an NISM Certificate Trainer, Prof. Saroj provided attendees with a highly practical perspective on career development.

Vikas College NSS Volunteers Assist Local Authorities During Ganesh Visarjan

Over 40 dedicated students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Vikas College of Arts, Science & Commerce (Vikhroli) are actively on duty to assist local authorities during the Ganesh immersion (Visarjan) .
Operating in close coordination with the Mumbai Police and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the volunteers are stationed at designated immersion points. Their primary responsibilities include managing crowd flow, guiding devotees to safe immersion zones, and helping maintain public order during one of the city's busiest festivals. This civic collaboration provides crucial on-the-ground support to the police and MCGM, demonstrating the students' commitment to community welfare and the core NSS motto, "Not Me, But You".

Report on Session on Student Career Planning – Beyond The Degree
Department of Biotechnology organized Lecture Session on Student Career Planning – Beyond The Degree for the students of Biotechnology on Monday 7th September 2026.

This session was organized under MoU with Bayview Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sanmesh Malvankar, Director – Strategic Partnership, Our Global Overseas (OGO) was the resource person for the session.

He leads institutional and strategic partnerships at Global Overseas (OGO), working alongside OGO's founder and Bayview Advisory Services to connect students with the guidance they need to make informed academic and career choices.

He posseses leveraging 19 years of cross-functional experience across HR, career coaching, global student recruitment, and financial services—with prior tenures at Germany’s largest private University, KPMG, and BDO India. He is hired extensively across India and globally, and backed by a worldwide professional network, provides unbiased, data-driven education and career advice that is bothcurrent and globally relevant.

“Beyond the Degree” is a career-planning session that helps students understand how their choice of course, institution and country connects directly to their future employability and not just their qualification.

During his session he gave clarity on how education choices shape long-term career outcomes, India-vs-abroad comparison, the practical checklist for students to evaluate any university or Programme. He discussed and made students aware of the skills employers value in the near future. Given the clear idea about varied pathways other than the conventional route.

On students’ demand the lecture session was made open to some other classes also along with First Year. Total around 106 students from various classes of Biotechnology attended the session, 55 students of First Year, 35 students of Third Year and 16 students of M.Sc. classes.

This lecture organized under the able guidance of I/C Principal Prof. C. Wins and Secretary of parent organization Vidya Vikas Education Society Dr. Vinay P.Raut.
