This poem is about what thoughts go inside a person's head when they are at their worst and how it affects them. The mental pressure that society puts is a lot to take on and I'm sure that everybody goes through this stage at least once in their life so I hope this poem will show you A Spark of Hope just like it guided me out of the darkness once.

*An Ember in the Dark*

Choking, crying, screaming
From the talk that's about
Hear me, hear me
For that's all I can get out

Closed off from the world
Shrouded in darkness's grasp
I struggle to speak, to breathe
Terror's claws has me in it's clasp

All I wanted was to be me
This world keeps holding me back
Not letting me be true to myself
All I hear now is my dreams crack

But I kept on going,
For the world wasn't slowing
Trying to regain my foot
To find the ember in the dark

Catching a spark of hope
I started the climb back up the slope
No more, I said
For their whispers slowly lost their hold

Reaching the top, I looked around
Feeling like I was just freshly crowned
I finally was able to breathe freely
As I could be true to me.

From the darkness of years
Came a ray of hope shining bright
It is time everyone hears
That it is the end of our fright

As we travel back years five and seventy
We see all the upheal before
But also the vanquish of our enemy
And an oath of Independence we swore

No more groveling for scraps
No more asking for our rights
The rule of British collapse
We have taken India to new heights

We have come a long way from the bloodshed
But a longer way we still need to go
For all the heroes of our nation who have bled
And from these sacrifices we continue to grow

We look back and feel the pride
Of so many of our ancestors as they finally won
As they still help us ahead and guide
From the stars they saw us become one

As we pushed and pushed and didn't lose
As we continue on this route
Today it's time to forget all the blues
And to stand up for India and give a salute
