Post Covid, these academic years have been unsatisfying. Students are forced to study online and exams are in MCQ mode which hardly add value to knowledge. As per Survey Report of Leverage Edu, 94% more Indian students are interested in studying abroad than in previous year. 71% students say that countries like UK, USA and Canada have superior access to healthcare.

As per the poll, 75% students want to study in the UK, 13% in Canada and 9% in USA. 28% students changed their destination from another country to UK, whereas 59% students chose not to change their destination.

I am excited to inform you that one of my students has scored 8.5 out of band of 9 in IELTS examination. IELTS is the entrance examination conducted to test the English language proficiency. It has 4 sections – Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. This is a physical examination conducted either Computer based or pen paper based. INVESTOR INTEREST IN EQUITY MARKETS IN 2021 :

There have been 589 IPOs in USA in 2021 vs. 103 in 2020. (+471%). In India. In India there have been 25 IPOs listed in 2021 and many more to come. An average of 2.5 million demat accounts have been opened in April to June quarter. The cumulative demat accounts have increased from 41 million to 55 million in 2020. This is mainly due to reduced interest rate in Fixed income instruments like FD and also due to ample liquidity available in the market. Equity turnover increased from Rs.96 lakh crore in 2019-20 to Rs.164 lakh crore in 2021-21.

There have been platforms like Zerodha who don’t charge any brokerage on equity delivery and a nominal accounting opening charge of Rs.200 for equity. But then there are others who charge a bit more but give a lot of quality services.

Investing in secondary markets involves a different set of knowledge and expertise whereas investing in IPOs involves the understanding about how to evaluate the business, valuation of listed peers and other factors. E.g. whether to invest in IPOs of new age unicorns like Zomato, PayTM, Nykaa, Byjus and regular companies like Clean Science, Glenmark Lifesciences etc.
