Discouragement is normal. Everyone feels it. Plus, it is one of surest stepping stones to success. When we feel discouraged, we are given the opportunity to develop a growth mindset, positive self-talk, self-efficiancy, and a strong internal locus of control. Having a growth mindset is like having a compass which points to the "next step" when invariable mistakes and missteps happen. Having a growth mindset inspires us to get up, get creative, get to Plan-B (or C or D), get moving, and get growing!

Hang this poster up in the hallway bulletin board, classroom, school counseling office, or even at home on your fridge and let everyone at home or for tht matter even anyone visiting u read it and feel motivated.

The 'power of choice' is a tool that we have great control over as individuals. We all experience several situations that vary from great elation to fury and even the deepest of grief. But, in all these situations *WE* have control over how we choose to respond.

Take a moment today to reflect: How often do you surrender away your power of choice?

Let us be piglet to someone today!!!!!!!!!

"Today was a Difficult Day," said Pooh.
There was a pause.
"Do you want to talk about it?" asked Piglet.
"No," said Pooh after a bit. "No, I don't think I do."
"That's okay," said Piglet, and he came and sat beside his friend.
"What are you doing?" asked Pooh.
"Nothing, really," said Piglet. "Only, I know what Difficult Days are like. I quite often don't feel like talking about it on my Difficult Days either.
"But goodness," continued Piglet, "Difficult Days are so much easier when you know you've got someone there for you. And I'll always be here for you, Pooh."
And as Pooh sat there, working through in his head his Difficult Day, while the solid, reliable Piglet sat next to him quietly, swinging his little legs...he thought that his best friend had never been more right."
A.A. Milne

Sending thoughts to everyone having a Difficult Day today. I hope you have your own Piglet to sit beside you 🧑

Teaching children an attitude of gratitude requires helping them to look at their situations from a point of appreciation rather than from a deficit.

How do we, as parents or educators, teach children such an abstract skill?

10 Ideas to Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude in Your Children

1. Say please and thank you.
Our manners show that we do not believe we are entitled to anything, and that in fact, we appreciate whatever comes our way.

2. Help someone less fortunate.
This could be your neighbor down the street, grandma, or someone you know who is in a tough spot.

3. Volunteer.
Help out at a homeless shelter, or non-profit organization .

4. Send out thank you cards.
Express your gratitude for those who have added value to your life.

5. Look for awe-inspiring moments in your day.
If the sunset is particularly beautiful, comment on it. If the sound of the baby’s laughter warms your heart, tell your children. Encourage them to look for their awe-inspiring moments and share them with you.

6. Share your gratitude at bedtime.
Take five minutes at the end of the day to ask your child what he is thankful for that day.

7. Share your gratitude at the dinner table.
Take a moment at dinner time to share what you are thankful for. Go around the table, allowing each family member a chance to vocalize their gratitude.

8. Compliment others.
Encourage your children to do the same. Share the things you appreciate about another person.

9. Keep a gratitude journal.
This can be in any form that works best for your child’s age, skill level and desire. Some kids will want to spend time writing their thoughts down. Others may be more apt to express their gratitude through drawing or painting.

10. Write a letter.
Encourage your child to write a letter to someone who has touched his life in some way. If he is comfortable, make a visit to that person to read the letter out loud. If not, mail it.

Following steps can help you solve problems and be successful. When you say the problem without blame and take responsibility for their part, problems can be resolved in a respectful way. Some solutions to problems are complicated and need a plan. Plans help you break down a big task into smaller, more manageable parts. You are better able to resolve conflicts when you are able to calm down and use the Problem-Solving steps.
