Students from the Department of Film Production and Communication (FTNMP) had the opportunity to step into the world of pre-production with a Location Recce – Story Hunt at the historic Kanheri Caves, nestled within Sanjay Gandhi National Park. 🗺️ 🏛️
Led by Mr. Sameer Rane, the session gave students first-hand exposure to the art of location scouting and the skill of identifying storytelling elements in real-world spaces. They explored the ancient caves, studied key aspects of site selection, and experimented with capturing scenes from multiple angles, turning the location into a canvas for creative ideas. 💡 🍃
Through hands-on documentation and guided observation, students deepened their understanding of how locations shape narratives. This immersive field-based experience not only sharpened their observational skills but also reinforced the department’s vision of blending classroom learning with real-world industry practices. 🎯🎥
