-Delta

In STAR connection, the starting or finishing ends (Similar ends) of three coils are connected together to form the neutral point. A common wire is taken out from the neutral point which is called Neutral.
Three phase four wire system is derived from Star Connections (3-Phase, 4 Wires System) We may Also derived 3 Phase 3 Wire System from Star Connection
Here line current is equal to phase current and line voltage is root*3 times phase voltage .
Normally used in Power transmissions

A 3 phase Induction motor has 3 winding which can be connected in Star or Delta configuration as shown in the figure.
Star connection is generally used for high voltage low current application while Delta connection is generally used for low voltage high current application i.e. for high capacity applications..
