We are pleased to announce the launch of a Master’s Degree programme in "International Electoral Management and Practices" in collaboration with the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the IIIDEM (India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management).

This programme responds to the global structural demand for qualified electoral professionals and capacity development of current officials managing elections in various countries. It has been designed with a focus on immersive and praxis-oriented pedagogies in the global context.

This is a two-year, full-time, blended Master’s Programme spread over four semesters involving classroom teaching and integrated field Practicum at TISS Mumbai and IIIDEM. The programme, which is offered by the School of Development Studies at TISS Mumbai focuses on a multidisciplinary approach with interactive research and peer learning-based education, policy insights, and innovative field-oriented pedagogy.

We will be celebrating the life and work of our former Director, Prof. S. Parasuraman from 4.30 pm onwards at the Quadrangle of TISS Mumbai’s Main Campus.

"Ask anyone who has worked with him, and they’ll say Prof S Parasuraman transformed their lives. Such was his effect, he ensured people around him continued studying but at the same time, ensured they are in touch with the real world. S Parsuraman: A “pro-people” educator, and institution builder dies at 70 Mumbai: Prominent social scientist and former director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), professor S Parasuraman passed away early on September 2, after a prolonged illness

Parasuraman broadened the vision of TISS through his commitment to excellence & equity. He was the best institutional builder in the modern India, says Prof. Ashwani Kumar.

‘Excellence and equality’ define S Parasuraman, say colleagues and professors Dr Parasuraman, a great institutional builder and former director of Tata Institute of Social Science, passed away on September 2.
