Sharon English High School - The Sharon Circle

Sharon English High School is a state board (S.S.C.) school located in Mulund, Mumbai. It was founded in 1967 by Mr. K.T. Philip and his wife, Ms. Anna Philip.

It was one of the first English medium schools established in Mulund over 50 years ago. At the heart of the school’s vision is the student. We hope to nurture each student to become confident, competent and creative individuals who will eventually impact society positively. Over the last five decades, the changing landscape of the world around us, has compelled us to hold some values close to our hearts. Our educational approach is guided by the values of collaboration, inclusion and empathy. Our teachers, administrators and staff are committed to upholding these values and to help students achieve their goals, as best as possible. We are a small school, infrastructurally, but as our alumni and students keep reminding us through their achievements, small can be beautiful too. We sincerely believe in providing equitable educational opportunities to all students who choose this school. Our teachers are constantly innovating and try to supplement the state board syllabus with progressive teaching methods, engaging activities and cultural events. Three organisations come together to love, nurture, and nourish a new library.

An alumnus of two Bookworm courses, the Navnirmiti Eduquality Foundation Navnirmiti Eduquality Foundation , started a new library in Bhandup in February this year, and recognised the need for capacity building for more team members so that the library could be more than a collection of lonely books sitting on shelves.

Through a combination of online and in-person sessions held in collaboration with Sharon School, Mulund Sharon English High School , we held hands to empower more team members of NEF to take meaningful library experiences to more children.

🧬 Students of std. 9 and 10 participated in the second edition of ICMR S.H.I.N.E( Science & Health Innovation for the Nextgen Explorers) on August 12th hosted by the Indian Council of Medical Research - National Institute for Research on Women’s Health (ICMR - NIRWoH), Mumbai

🔬 They gained firsthand exposure to the world of medical science, research and innovation, especially on women’s health and health-related research.

🧪 During the visit they explored research facilities, learned about advanced techniques such as PCR ,DNA analysis and also understood how observations and trials are conducted for scientific studies.

⚗️ The visit offered a meaningful learning experience, inspiring young minds to explore, question and dream of contributing to the world of science.

🧫 Our heartfelt gratitude to the ICMR - NIRWoH, Mumbai for organising this and extending an invitation to our students.

Green Gadgets: Made by Me, Good for Earth! 🌍

Our little Eco-Inventors of Grade 2 enthusiastically participated in the EVS activity and showcased their creativity through wonderful eco-friendly models. 🌿✨
From self-watering plant pots and rainwater collectors to compost bins, waste segregation bins and water bowls for birds, our young learners explored simple and meaningful ways to care for our environment.
