We want to take this opportunity to say a few words. First of all, congratulations to all whose submissions made their way all to the magazine. Due to different constraints like time and space, we were not able to accept all the submissions. Moreover, the team had tried their best to keep up the quality of the magazine. So if you have submitted something for this magazine and it does not get published, don't be sad. We are extremely sorry for not being able to publish your writing. There can be many reasons behind that (including the possibility that we could have missed your submission). Anyway, this is not the last time IISER Kolkata is publishing its annual magazine. So keep up your creativity and good work, and you will definitely get a chance to publish your article in the magazine - or even in some more reputed magazine!

Last but not least, we want to thank all the members of IISER Kolkata because without your support, this magazine would not have been possible.

The fragrance of autumn is flickering its brushes on a mundane canvas to portray the quintessential colors of Puja. And IISER Kolkata is there to present the annual extravaganza of this cultural harmony. Gear up for the 6th of October for experiencing the best of talents and creative intellects. Mark the date!

Dear Currently Registered Students,

1) Use your personal IISER Kolkata ID to fill the form. If you are having trouble, it is usually because your browser is logged in using another gmail ID, when opening the form. If so, simply open an incognito tab, and copy past the Google form link there, and login to your personal IISER Kolkata GSuite ID and done!

2) Active participation in evaluation is integral to a well represented student community. Please take part in the process at your capacities. Crucial judgement gives us a well rounded Student Body in the SAC, and better position of the entire student community. Appreciation/De-appreciation is the way for you to impart your own fair evaluation of your SAC representatives and how well your representatives have executed the responsibilities of their posts.

URGENT!!!! JNM is conducting a free vaccination camp at IISER Kolkata LHC. This is for those people who are due for the 2nd dose of COVISHEILD. So if you have not yet got the 2nd dose of COVISHEILD and your 84 days from the 1st dose of COVISHIELD is over, then please go to LHC as soon as possible.
And please spread the information among the whole IISER Kolkata community as soon as possible.

The General Secretaries, SAC (Food, Health & Hygiene) have successfully completed their General Body Meeting on 08th September 2021. A significant number of people have participated in the meeting. We had also circulated the minutes and ppt after the meeting. We recommend reading the ppt, which contains the overview of our tenure including our failures, our achievements, our hardships of pandemic. This would give you a glimpse of working of General Secretaries. You may find the minutes and ppt in your official mailbox. Here, we are attaching only the minutes as ppt contains some crucial information which might not suitable for the General public platform.

Now, we will be passing our responsibilities to the coming new GSs. We thank all students for your continuous support, valuable participation & constructive criticism. We thank you for being an aware student of the IISER-K, keep up the spirit!

Prof Sourav Pal, Hon'ble Director of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata addresses the Revival-Tenacity Closing Ceremony held on 4th April, which concluded the month long Revival - All IISER Online Culturals Fest 2021 and the online Tenacity : All IISER Online Sports Meet 2021, coordinated by 200+ core committee members, volunteers and event organizers across IISERs, under the efforts of Ankit, Ritika (IISER Berhampur) and Dakshesh.

It's the festive season, IISERK, and to put a cherry on top of your already heightened spirits, this is a reminder that 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝘂𝗷𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗶!

The first edition turned out to be a massive success, thanks to the wide variety of amazing contributions we received from you all. We intend to make this new issue (𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭) even larger than the last one, so allow your creative juices to flow and let the submissions pour in!

The types of submissions allowed include (but aren't limited to):

1. Literary Works, (Story, Poems, Qualitative description of an experience), 

2. Travelogues, 

3. Art & Photo Corner, 

4. Science Corner, 

5. Interviews (Renowned personalities), etc.

If you have any unique idea of your own that you would like to see published in the upcoming 𝗣𝘂𝗷𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗶, don't hesitate to write to us! Note that the 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 is 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟯𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭!

I remember when we completed the documentation when I was in SMC 2019. After that pandemic strikes and a lot has happened. Finally, we received the T.V. and much required Water Coolers in the Student Monitored Canteen.

Looking forward for achieving more development goals ahead.

The SAC Cultural has completed the Tenure Completion Process and we have new Club Office for the 12 Cultural Clubs up and running for 2021-22!!!
All OBs 2020-21 have been appreciated, and rightfully so, owing to their immense support to the objectives of the SAC Cultural, in the interests of the student community.

Our first Cultural Affairs Committee Meeting, convened by the SAC GS BS-MS, has been conducted successfully where we had an orientation session and other agenda tabled for the Cult Scene of IISER Kolkata.

Omkar Sahu, Quiz Club - IISER Kolkata 2020-21; Anchit Bhair & Aritra Konar, Aarshi : Dramatics Club of IISER Kolkata 2020-21 and Aesha Lahiri , ARTS CLUB IISER K 2020-21 gave their two cents to the new OBs as they begin the tenure. They stressed on participation, event organisation and gave tips to the OBs. They also assured their constant supportive presence whenever needed!

We thank the ex OBs for their definite role in keeping the students connected and alive even online, while also supporting throughout the tenure.
It was also stressed in the meeting that we encourage dynamism to the extent that the only tradition that should be rigorously followed is the tradition of , and only that can help us grow.
