Faculty at Plaksha have Ph.D degrees from leading institutions such as MIT, Stanford, Cambridge, NTU, IITs, IISc, TIFR. The programs are guided by an eminent board including Nobel Laureate Abhijit Banerjee; Shankar Sastry, Former Dean of Engineering of UC Berkeley; Sriram Rajamani, Managing Director of Microsoft Research India; Julia Ross, Dean, Virginia Tech, and BN Jain of IIT Delhi. Dr. Rudra Pratap is the Founding Vice-Chancellor of Plaksha University. He was till recently the Deputy Director of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Founding Chairperson of the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) and a Professor in the Centre, as well as of Mechanical Engineering at IISc, Bangalore. The stereotype says engineers speak only in number. But Yashvi Panpalia speaks through dance, writing and debate.

She has completed the Gandharva Exam in Bharatanatyam, represented her school at Model United Nations and been part of Young Leaders for Active Citizenship.

Code and numbers is part of her vocabulary too. She holds a Certificate of Merit for her work on a project that uses AI to combat climate change.

At Plaksha, this range is a strength, and it shapes the way students approach engineering. A student fluent in art, argument and technology sees problems from more angles and finds solutions others may miss.

This is what the next generation of innovators looks like.

An engineer's toolkit is not limited to blueprints and code.

Ahaan Makhija proves it — an aerospace innovator, researcher and author, he has spent his school years building, testing and publishing at a pace most professionals would have not.

As an innovator, he led a school team that built the 797-Skywave supersonic aircraft, which secured 2nd position at the Volatus National Aerospace Challenge in 2024. The following year, his team's Mestra-MK-7, designed for mesospheric flight, secured 1st place at the same challenge. He has also published two research papers in international journals and filed a patent application for a portable robotics diagnostic and monitoring device. He has written a science-fiction novel, The Chronoshatter: The Last Experiment.

At Plaksha, this breadth of pursuits, from aerospace design to research and writing, is central to the engineering experience. Students are encouraged to explore across disciplines and to carry those experiences into the problems they choose to solve.

This is the next generation of innovators.

Some people call it a research trajectory. We call it a passport full of AI labs.

All this while holding a BTech in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from Plaksha, where the questions started long before the conferences did.

Three continents, zero jet lag on the curiosity front. Plot twist: he is not even done yet.

And with his work already making it to leading international conferences, we are keeping our eyes wide open for what comes next.

An engineer can wear many hats.

Shaivi Kumar is a vocalist, orator, and community leader.

Formally trained in music and dance at the London College of Music and Praacheen Kala Kendra, she has also made it to the finals of the Footprint Film Festival as an emerging filmmaker. As Executive Director and Joint Secretary of the Interact Club, she has spearheaded community efforts ranging from health camps and sanitation drives to visits with orphanages and old age homes.

At Plaksha, this fluidity between performance, storytelling, and social impact is part of what it means to study engineering. Students are given access to explore across disciplines, chase what genuinely interests them, and carry those experiences into the problems they set out to solve.

The BTech Class of 2030 began their four year journey at Orientation, while 220+ students experienced a full recruitment dry run at Career Studio.

Meanwhile, ConfBioTech 2026 brought India’s biotech leaders together to explore how the country can prepare to invent, not just service, and the AI Builders’ Bootcamp introduced 50 engineering students to agentic AI through hands-on learning.
