ONE STRIKE. A WORLD OF DETERMINATION.

In fencing, every second counts. One calculated move, one moment of courage, one decisive strike can change the course of a bout.

For Nitika, a fencing athlete at CGC University, Mohali, that defining moment arrived on the international stage — earning her a BRONZE MEDAL at the Thailand Open Fencing Championship.

But the journey to the podium began long before the medal was placed around her neck. It took shape through relentless practice, sharpened reflexes, disciplined training, and the determination to return stronger after every challenge.

As a student-athlete, Nitika’s achievement reflects the sporting spirit nurtured by the School of Physical Education & Sports Sciences, CGC University, Mohali, where athletes are encouraged to refine their abilities, embrace competition, and pursue excellence beyond familiar arenas.

As the 5-day drone technology bootcamp progressed, participants began exploring the systems, concepts and technological principles that power modern drones. The focus shifted from simply understanding what drones can do to getting closer to how they actually work.

Adding valuable industry and technical perspectives to the session, Dr. Gurjot Kaur and Mr. Prem Kumar Rawat shared their expertise, giving participants deeper insights into drone technology, innovation and its evolving applications.

The bootcamp reflects the importance of industry-driven learning at CGC University, where students are encouraged to explore emerging technologies, build practical understanding and develop the confidence to experiment with new ideas.

The Department of Civil Engineering at CGC University took students on an industrial visit to the Adani Cement Plant, Ropar, offering them an opportunity to observe large-scale cement manufacturing and plant operations up close.

From understanding the manufacturing process and quality control practices to gaining insights into industrial safety and day-to-day plant operations, the visit brought classroom concepts into a real industrial setting.

For aspiring civil engineers, experiences like these help create a clearer understanding of how engineering principles translate into actual processes, systems and operations.

From striking runway moments to energetic dance performances, powerful dialogue delivery, music and drama, the event brought together different forms of expression on one stage.

What made the showcase special was the confidence with which students stepped forward, embraced the spotlight and added their own flavour to the Bollywood theme. Every performance brought something different — from glamour and attitude to rhythm, storytelling and theatrical flair.
