Because the use of shorthand is so rare in this modern technology age, those who are fluent in the language are in high demand. Knowing shorthand can even open you to the possibility of being the stenographer at a salacious courtroom event, like President Clinton’s Impeachment Trial. Shorthand is not just a language of our history, but can actually help get you in the record book yourself!

There is grave difficulty in learning shorthand but learning is not impossible if you are interested and in fact, you can truly benefit from your knowledge about shorthand because learning shorthand has several advantages such as:

• Quick notes. When you know shorthand writing, writing quick notes would be one of your best abilities because even if the speaker speaks fast, it is not impossible for you to catch up or impossible for you to miss a thing the speakers says, compared to writing the usual way as with shorthand, you can listen and write fast at the same time.
• All information jotted down. Sometimes, in seminars and lectures, we can’t help but miss some bits of information and the cause is that it took us a long time to write one long word but in shorthand, that long word could become a short word, making it impossible for you to miss some important information to jot down.
