🚀 Orbit Odyssey: The Final Countdown 🌌✨

An exhilarating day of challenges, creativity, and team spirit, Orbit Odyssey conducted by Equinox club, under the Aero-Nova Society, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Chandigarh University, brought together some of the brightest minds.

On 30th March 2026, participants embarked on an exciting three-stage mission:
🔍 Treasure Hunt – decoding clues and navigating through every twist with speed and precision
🔐 Escape Room – where strategy, communication, and collaboration became the key to success
🚀 Rocket Building – transforming ideas into reality through hands-on innovation and engineering

Each round pushed teams to think differently, work closely, and perform under pressure, making the entire experience both thrilling and memorable.

🏆 Top teams
🥇 Pookies – secured 1st place with exceptional performance throughout
🥈 Zero-Byte – earned 2nd place with remarkable consistency
🥉 Zero-Gravity – claimed 3rd place with commendable effort and determination

A heartfelt thank you to every team for their enthusiasm and competitive spirit, and to the organizers and volunteers whose dedication made the event a grand success 🌠

Here’s to more such moments of innovation, teamwork, and unforgettable memories 🚀✨

🇮🇳🚀 INDIA MOVES CLOSER TO HUMAN SPACEFLIGHT

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully tested the drogue parachute system for the Gaganyaan mission — a critical technology that ensures safe stabilization and landing of the crew module.

From launch to landing, every second matters. This milestone marks another strong step toward sending Indian astronauts into space.

A perfect example of DRDO × ISRO collaboration and India’s growing strength in space technology.

🌍🚀 NISAR — A Giant Leap for Earth Observation

A powerful collaboration between NASA 🇺🇸 & ISRO 🇮🇳, the NISAR satellite is set to revolutionize how we monitor our planet.

Using advanced dual-frequency radar, it can track even the tiniest changes on Earth — from earthquakes to melting glaciers — with centimeter-level precision.

🌐 Scans Earth every 12 days
🌧 Works day & night, through clouds
⚠️ Helps in disaster prediction & climate research

This mission is not just about space… it’s about protecting our future on Earth 🌍

🚀🇮🇳 India breaks new ground in hypersonic technology! DRDL, Hyderabad (DRDO), has achieved a major milestone by successfully conducting a long-duration ground test of its full-scale actively cooled scramjet combustor. The test ran for over 12 minutes at the advanced SCPT facility on January 9, 2026. This success validates critical scramjet technologies for hypersonic cruise missiles and firmly positions India among global leaders in advanced aerospace and defence innovation.

ISRO's Chandrayaan-2 lunar orbiter has made the first-ever observation of the effects of the Sun's Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) on the Moon, meaning it has discerned how a massive solar eruption struck the Moon and changed its thin outer "atmosphere," the lunar exosphere. The observation is instrumental in our understanding of space weather.

What's a CME?:
A CME (Coronal Mass Ejections) is a burst of charged particles and magnetic fields ejected from the Sun's corona. When it travels through space, it can hit planets, moons, or spacecraft, disturbing their environments and electronics.

CHACE-2 in action:
Chandra's Atmospheric Composition Explorer-2 (CHACE-2), an onboard scientific instrument of the Chandrayaan-2, has been proven to be the key to success. When a CME hit on 10 May 2024, it detected a sharp rise (more than tenfold) in the density and pressure of neutral atoms around the Moon. Being a neutral mass spectrometer in act, it measures the types and amounts of atoms and molecules in the Moon's extremely thin exosphere by directly sampling them and separating them according to their mass-to-charge ratio.

Why it matters? The Moon has no magnetic field or thick atmosphere, so CMEs hit it directly. Studying this interaction helps scientists model solar-wind effects on airless worlds like Mercury, asteroids, and even future lunar bases.

What it means for India?
This discovery marks India's entry into advanced planetary-space-weather research. It strengthens ISRO's credibility in solar-lunar studies and proves that low-cost, high-precision Indian instruments can deliver frontier science.
