The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Chandigarh University, successfully hosted an insightful Expert Talk on “Innovation in Machine Learning”, centered around “Practical AI: From Basics to Perfection.”

The session explored key aspects of AI and Machine Learning, including AI fundamentals, practical implementation of AI solutions, Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs), real-world applications, emerging AI capabilities, and opportunities for innovation and research.

We sincerely thank our esteemed expert speaker, Dr. Sandeep Singh Sandha, Founder, Punjab AI – Excellence, for sharing his valuable expertise, practical insights, and perspectives on the evolving landscape of AI.

🚀 From Coding Fundamentals to AI-Driven Development!

“AI may change the way we code, but it makes understanding problems, designing solutions, and thinking logically more important than ever.”

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering successfully organised a One-Day Hands-on Workshop on “Machine Learning and Its Applications” with Mr. Manoj Yadav, Technical Lead, Blazing Minds Education Limited, Gurugram.

The session explored why coding still matters in the age of AI, moving beyond “Vibe Coding” to structured problem-solving through PRD and SDD. Participants also gained hands-on exposure to Python, virtual environments, UV libraries, SDD-based development, and project-oriented implementation.

The workshop encouraged learners to look beyond AI-generated code and focus on defining problems, designing solutions, and building meaningful real-world applications.

Engineering ideas. Inspiring research. Creating impact.

Celebrating Engineers’ Day, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Chandigarh University, organized BUILD SUMMIT 2026 – Student Research Symposium, providing students a platform to present their research and showcase innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

Centred on “AI for Sustainable Development: Solve, Build, Impact,” the symposium featured student research across four tracks — Smart Agriculture, Climate & Environment, Smart Cities & Mobility, and Social Good & Responsible AI. The Best Paper from each track was recognized with the Best Paper Award. 🏆

We were honoured by the presence of Dr. Satish Kumar, CSIR–CSIO – Chief Guest; Dr. Sanjay Madan, CDAC – Guest of Honor; Prof. (Dr.) Gopender Vikram Singh, NIT Jalandhar; and Dr. Krishna Pal Sharma, NIT Jalandhar, along with our Distinguished Special Guests, Dr. Navjot Singh Miglani and Dr. Sandeep Salhotra, Chandigarh University.
