The Department of Physical Education and the Department of Food Processing and Quality Management, S.D. College for Women, Moga, jointly organized an Awareness Lecture on Environmental Conservation to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students.
The programme featured two distinguished resource persons: Advocate Sameer Gupta, Chief, Live Events Development Cell(LEDC), Moga, and ASI Kewal Singh, Traffic Police, Moga.
Advocate Sameer Gupta emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, highlighting the need to protect natural resources, reduce pollution, and adopt eco-friendly habits in daily life. He also discussed the legal aspects of environmental protection and encouraged students to become responsible citizens by actively participating in environmental conservation initiatives.
ASI Kewal Singh addressed the role of every individual in maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He explained how responsible civic behaviour, proper waste management, adherence to traffic rules, and reducing vehicular pollution contribute significantly to environmental protection. He motivated students to become ambassadors of environmental awareness within their families and communities.
The lecture was highly informative and interactive, inspiring students to understand their responsibility towards protecting the environment. The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the resource persons, the college administration, faculty members, and all participants for making the event successful. The session reinforced the message that collective efforts and individual responsibility are essential for building a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
