Students Explore Sericulture Industry

Yesterday, Class X and XII students visited a local sericulture facility to see the real-world journey of silk production. The trip perfectly connected their biology and geography lessons to a thriving agro-industry.

During the visit, students explored the mulberry plantations and observed the silkworm lifecycle, watching larvae spin their protein cocoons. They also witnessed the industrial "reeling" process, where microscopic filaments are unwound and spun into raw silk yarn. The field trip gave students a firsthand look at how science drives a sustainable commercial craft.
