আজ ১২ ই মে, মেদিনীপুর সিটি কলেজের উদ্যোগে গ্রীষ্মকালীন রক্তের চাহিদা পূর্ণ করতে একটি বিশেষ স্বেচ্ছায় রক্তদান শিবির আয়োজিত হয়। এই শিবিরের মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল রক্তদানের মাধ্যমে মানুষের জীবন রক্ষা করা এবং রক্তদানের গুরুত্ব সম্পর্কে সবাইকে সচেতন করা। মেদিনীপুর সিটি কলেজে সকাল ১০টায় এই শিবির শুরু হয়। রক্তদাতাদের উৎসাহিত করতে মেদিনীপুর সিটি কলেজের পক্ষ থেকে প্রত্যেক রক্তদাতাকে স্মারক, শংসাপত্র, এবং পুষ্টিকর খাবার ও জুস দেওয়া হয়। রক্তদানের পর যারা ক্লান্তি বোধ করছিলেন, তাদের জন্য বিশ্রামের ও প্রাথমিক চিকিৎসার সুব্যবস্থা ছিল। এই রক্তদান শিবিরে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মেদিনীপুর সিটি কলেজের মাননীয় কর্ণধার ডঃ প্রদীপ ঘোষ, উপস্থিত ছিলেন এই মহাবিদ্যালয়ের মাননীয় অধ্যক্ষ ডঃ সুদীপ্ত চক্রবর্তী, উপাধ্যক্ষ ডঃ কুন্তল ঘোষ, সহকারী নিবন্ধক আভিষেক দাস, জাতীয় সেবা প্রকল্পের প্রোগ্রাম অফিসার সমর দাস মহাশয়, উপস্থিত ছিলেন বাংলা বিভাগীয় প্রধান ডঃ রাকেশ জানা, ইতিহাস বিভাগের অধ্যাপক সোমনাথ রানা ও বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষক ও সমাজকর্মী সুদীপ খাঁড়া মহাশয়। মোট তিনটি সেন্টারকে রক্তদান শিবিরে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো হয়- মেদিনীপুর ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক, শালবনী ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ক, নয়াগ্রাম ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্ককে। মোট ২৩৩ জন রক্তদাতা রক্ত দান করেন। যাদের মধ্যে ছেলেদের সংখ্যা ১৬১, মেয়েদের সংখ্যা-৭২ জন। রক্তদাতার সংখ্যার নিরিখে মেদিনীপুর ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কে- ১৪৩ জন, শালবনী ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কে- ৫০ জন, নয়াগ্রাম ব্লাড ব্যাঙ্কে- ৪০ জন রক্তদাতা রক্ত দান করেন।

Gangtok Botanical Tour 2026

From 4th April to 17th April, the students of Midnapore City College embarked on an enriching and memorable Botanical Tour to Gangtok.

The tour provided a perfect blend of academic learning and natural exploration. Students got the opportunity to observe diverse plant species, study ecological variations, and gain hands-on experience beyond the classroom.

Apart from academic exposure, the journey was filled with moments of team bonding, adventure, and appreciation of nature’s beauty .The scenic landscapes and rich biodiversity of Gangtok made this tour truly unforgettable.
Such field experiences play a vital role in shaping a deeper understanding of botany and environmental awareness.
