🌍 World Food Safety Day 2026 🌍

On the occasion of World Food Safety Day (07 June 2026), the Department of Food Science & Quality Control, Raghunath Girls' Post Graduate College, Meerut successfully organized an Online Quiz Competition and Awareness Campaign to promote awareness about safe food practices among students and youth.

Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Prof. Nivedita Malik, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the college as well as other institutions. The quiz covered key themes such as food hygiene, food safety standards, food quality, nutrition, health, and food laws, helping participants gain valuable practical knowledge.

A special highlight of the event was the creative initiative by students, who prepared short videos and reels on food safety awareness. These videos effectively communicated messages on safe eating habits, hygiene practices, prevention of foodborne diseases, and everyday food safety tips. The content was widely shared across social media platforms, spreading awareness on a larger scale.

The program was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Coordinator Dr. Deeksha Yajurvedi, with valuable support from Ms. Saloni Sharma and Mrs. Neeru Batra.
This initiative went beyond academics, serving as a powerful platform for community engagement and public awareness on the importance of food safety for a healthier society.

Students of the B.Sc. Food Science & Quality Control Department demonstrated the Biuret Test, a qualitative test used for the detection of proteins. Through hands-on laboratory experiments, students gain practical exposure to fundamental biochemical techniques and strengthen their analytical skills.
