Successful CYBER SECURITY WORKSHOP
" Vidya College of Engineering"
Cybersecurity is the body of technologies, processes and practices designed to protect networks, computers, programs and data from attack, damage or unauthorized access. In a computing context, security includes both cybersecurity and physical security.
Apart from that couple of other considerations would be:
1 The complexity of the products.
2 The license cost of the CAD packages.
In the automotive industry I have seen many companies switching from Catia to NX.
In the die making industry or the plastic moulds industry, mostly solid works, NX and proE are used.
Autodesk inventor is also climbing up the ladder for its very user friendly and the licence is cheaper when compared to most of the CAD packages available in the market
Softwares specialized in surfaces : Alias and Rhinoceros 3D. I hear more of Rhino in France.
These softwares are very good at surface design but not parametric. If you need to iterate a lot on your model it can oblige you to redo several time the same operations. It is very oriented for industrial/product designers.
Parametric modelers like Solidworks, CATIA, CREO, Unigraphic are used by quite all engineers and also used by many designers.
Solidworks is the most easy to learn.
CATIA is the most powerful. It can be useful for car design for example.
CREO is complex to learn but is a good intermediate solution if you buy the surface module.
Unigraphic had many anoying dialog boxes in the time but is very clear. I did not used it since a while. It is used a lot by automotive in Germany.
There is also many others.
Simplified 3D modeling like Google sketchup and 3DVIA shape are evolving. It is nice for architecture and quick model research.
3D infographics softwares (non CAD) like Cinema 4D, Maya, 3DSMax are sometime also used by designers. It is good for efficiently modeling complex 3D shapes. Yet the resulting skin often have to be modeled again in a CAD to be used by technicians. These softwares are also used a lot to render realistic 3D scenes.
Blender is a notable open source alternative to these 3D suites

Design Essentials for 3D Printing
It’s no secret that industrial 3D printing has changed the rules of design and opened up new possibilities. What was previously unmanufacturable can now be created in a matter of hours. But, even though it seems like 3D printing brings endless design freedom, it’s important to understand the new rules of the road. These 3D printing design essentials will guarantee a smooth transition from CAD to final part.
