As Founder Headmaster of Blossoms School set up in Meerut in 1996, I have striven to ensure that holistic education is the bedrock of Children’s learning. Holistic to me, is a derivative of ‘Holy’ or ‘Whole’-the way children must grow up, availing opportunities in a well-rounded curriculum. Getting good grades of course, but also, playing in the orchestra , bowling leg spin, climbing mountains , caring for the aged and the destitute-thereby developing skills and attitudes that empower them to live a wholesome life, as citizens who achieve and contribute, simultaneously. I spell Children, like God, always with capital ‘C’. They means no less, to me. Founder, Blossoms Summer School, Meerut:
This was the craziest disruption in the field of education, ever! The 1st Summer School, Blossoms Summ Fun 1996, took Meerut by a storm. Little did one know what we were walking into! The demand was so furiously enormous I can’t get it out of my mind. We had to run it in three shifts, while we had planned just one - morning, afternoon, and right up to the night, when students, unwilling to go back home, were literally pushed out of the campus! Parents and Students would throng the school gate, as if we were selling hot cake! And what were we providing? In the simplest of words, Childhood to Children. The Summer School gave to every Child who has attended it since 1996, (based on the Motto : Love. Laugh. Live. Learn) the simplest need of every child – and what is that? Opportunity!! Opportunities to explore and unleash their potential, to discover their own selves, to interact, understand, accept and collaborate with others, to learn new skills, to face challenges. And, ultimately, to extract from within themselves, all the latent capabilities and talent, which is the true meaning of education, derived from the word Educe, meaning, to draw out. For 6 weeks of their summer vacation, children from far and wide, ranging from age 3 to 18 years, actually counted the days in their regular schooling for the remaining 46 weeks of the year, to come to Blossoms Summer School as the entire year’s reward! And it was not merely reward for them, it was reward in every sense, for me and my colleagues in teaching, to grow and flourish, together with all those lovely children, who came to us. And, every Summer School ended with a fantabulous talent show, where all the students presented before their excitedly keen Parents, not only what they had learned in Blossoms Summer School, but what, sadly was starkly missing and still is, in their regular schooling. Blossoms Adventure Camping, founded in 1996, together with Blossoms School and Blossoms Summer School, is what I consider the greatest personal breakthrough opportunity to young people, for their transformation. And, through this one medium I have observed, the most amazing turnaround results emerging in the mind and attitude of young people. This is an outdoor learning program , which outshines all other methods of learning for the youth of this world, based on the motto : Strive. Rise Higher, set in Camps far from maddening crowds, tucked away in nature’s lap; young people have gained meaningful learning for a richer life and have reported profound changes in their mindset, that meaningfully supported their growth- professionally and personally. Through all the rigour and rigmarole that those days of adventure camp comprise of, based on the five C’s: Courage, Camaraderie, Compassion, Collaboration, Confidence, the experience come as a reminder to all participants, that there is more in them than they think. Gyanoday, a NGO, which I founded and have headed since 2001, is currently spread over many Centers in Meerut, Dehradun and Delhi. Based on the motto Knowledge Is The Basis Of Progress, it is a means of enabling marginalized children to be educated via non formal and formal learning out in the slums, formal schooling, through scholarships, vocational training and professional courses, in order for them to stand on their feet–financially self - sufficient and living with dignity and awareness. Gyanoday has enabled over 1 million people to live better, bringing about significant changes for its beneficiaries, in terms of a higher standard of living, economic upliftment, women empowerment, higher aspirations , tolerance, vulnerability risk reduction , social integration, communal harmony, behavioral transformation, et al. I might have perhaps been the youngest President of a Local Management Association in the country, when in the year 2005 – 2006, for that one extremely eventful year , treating my responsibilities, perhaps a wee bit too seriously, I galvanized our Association in every possible way - intellectually, culturally, administratively, financially. Barely did a week pass without a meaningful activity or event organized for its Members, whom, I ensured, received full value in return for their Membership Subscription. A fair amount of Dignitaries and Distinguished Speakers came to us apart from our Association qualifying on merit to receive a generous grant towards betterment, from the All India Management Association (AIMA). From 1992 to 1999, what stands out truly, as a great honour and privilege, was my being called as visiting faculty to address the passing out courses of Gentleman Cadets at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, every term. My subject, Financial and Future Management, was more often than not, made lively for the august audience, through anecdotes and couplets etc, which evoked rapt attention from the listeners. Enrolled into the Bar Council of Delhi on 3rd February 1992, I thoroughly enjoyed and learnt oceans full of that one aspect about life, which is above all else – The Law Of The Land. This one part of my life is as precious as it is a matter of pride for me. And, comes to handy, day in and day out, regardless of my other pursuits and pre- occupations. I must confess that I still very much relish attending to the legal matters relating to my vast myriad of work. And of course, the conception, drafting, and pleading of arguments and submissions is of tremendous use in what I am doing as Youth Transformation Coach! This particular experience will always stand out in my memory. I was part of a Youth Development Program of the University of New Hampshire USA, as a Counsellor. My assignment was to teach the Students about my part of the World. That apart, I also took classes of selective activities; Swimming, Theater and Yoga. The Counsellors were brought in from over 25 Countries and thus a huge cultural melting pot was created. I also had the privilege of visiting other Schools in other States of the USA, giving talks and interacting with Students all over. Extremely enriching this one experience of my life

Founded and opened “ Personality plus: - Institute for grooming college going Students. And conducted frequent Training and Orientation Sessions/ Workshops for Staff and Students. I led many mountaineering expeditions, and produced and directed several plays. I have been avid player of Squash and Golf. Currently, coaching, meditation and reading are my favorite pursuits. I had travelled widely, within India, UK, USA, Germany, France, Switzerland, Thailand, Indonesia, Mauritius, Spain, Macau, Hong Kong, Malaysia and The Maldives.
