Through meaningful discussions and thoughtful debates, our students beautifully demonstrated that today’s youth are the responsible leaders of tomorrow. 🌟

🇮🇳 History of Indian Independence Day

India celebrates Independence Day on 15 August every year to commemorate its freedom from British rule in 1947.

The struggle for independence lasted for nearly two centuries. Great leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, and countless freedom fighters inspired millions of Indians to fight for freedom.

The Indian National Congress declared Purna Swaraj (complete independence) as its goal in 1930. After years of protests, movements, sacrifices, and negotiations, the British Parliament passed the Indian Independence Act, 1947.

At the stroke of midnight between 14 and 15 August 1947, India became an independent nation. Jawaharlal Nehru delivered his historic “Tryst with Destiny” speech, and India began its journey as a free country.

Since then, 15 August has been celebrated as Independence Day. The Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi and addresses the nation.

🇮🇳 Independence Day is not just a celebration of freedom—it is a reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and our responsibility to build a strong, united and progressive India.
