🔠 1. English Parts of Speech
English traditionally has 8 parts of speech:
1. Noun – names a person, place, thing (e.g., book)
2. Pronoun – replaces a noun (e.g., he, she, it)
3. Adjective – describes a noun (e.g., blue, tall)
4. Verb – shows action or state (e.g., run, is)
5. Adverb – modifies a verb/adjective/other adverb (e.g., quickly, very)
6. Preposition – shows relationship in space/time (e.g., in, on, at)
7. Conjunction – joins words or sentences (e.g., and, but)
8. Interjection – expresses sudden emotion (e.g., oh!, wow!)
🇧🇩 *2. Bengali (Bangla) Parts of Speech :-- classification -----
1. বিশেষ্য (Noun)
2. সর্বনাম (Pronoun)
3. বিশেষণ (Adjective)
4. ক্রিয়া (Verb)
5. অব্যয় (Particles / Indeclinables) – includes:
সম্বন্ধবাচক অব্যয় (Prepositions)
যোগসূত্র (Conjunctions)
উৎসমাচক শব্দ (Interjections)
So Bengali often groups prepositions, conjunctions, interjections under অব্যয় (indeclinable/unchanging words).
🕋 3. Arabic Parts of Speech
Arabic classifies all words into 3 categories:
1. اِسْمٌ (Ism)
– noun-like words: includes nouns, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs.
Definition:- যে শব্দের একটা নিজস্ব অর্থ থাকে, যার অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অন্য কোন শব্দের বা সময়ের উপর নির্ভরশীল নয়, সেই শব্দকে اِسْمٌ বলে।
উদাহরণ: كِتَابٌ - Book , مَدْرَسَةٌ - school, قَلَمٌ - pen , اَنْتَ - you
2. فِعْلٌ (Fi‘l) – verbs (past, present, command)
Definition:-- যে শব্দের একটা নিজস্ব অর্থ থাকে, যার অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অন্য কোন শব্দের উপর নির্ভরশীল নয় কিন্তু সময়ের উপর নির্ভরশীল, সেই শব্দকে فِعْلٌ বলা হয়।
উদাহরণ:-- دَخَلَ - He entered, كَتَبَ - he wrote, اِذْهَبْ - you go. يَدْرِسُ - he is reading
3. حَرْفٌ (Ḥarf) – particles: includes prepositions, conjunctions, interjections, and other "function words"
Definition:-- যে শব্দের একটা নিজস্ব অর্থ থাকে কিন্তু অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অন্য কোন শব্দের উপর নির্ভরশীল হয় এবং যার অর্থ সময়ের উপর নির্ভরশীল নয়, সেই শব্দকে حَرْفٌ বলা হয়।
উদাহরণ:--- مِنْ - from , لَا - no , اِنَّ - surely
✅ Summary of Relationships:
1.Arabic's "اسم" = **English ** nouns, adjectives, pronouns, many adverbs = Bengali *** বিশেষ্য পদ ।
2.Arabic's "فعل" = English verbs = Bengali*** ক্রিয়া পদ ।
3.Arabic's "حرف" = English prepositions, conjunctions, interjections = **Bengali অব্যয় পদ।
এই Relationship ভালভাবে বুঝতে পারলে আরবী ব্যাকরণ এর পদ প্রকরণ মনে রাখতে সুবিধা হবে।
