Types of Twin's

In today’s post, I would be discussing about neurocysticercosis. A brain infection caused by tapeworm , Taenia solium . Let’s see few intracranial presentations : 🔺 Ring enhancing lesions : A common pattern seen , and often depicts colloidal vesicular stage of the disease. 🔺 Parenchymal cysts : Another form of presentation and often centered in grey-white matter junction. The cysts can be seen within parenchyma as well as in subarachnoid spaces. 🔺 Cyst with dot sign : seen with vesicular stage of the infection. Here in, we cyst with eccentric scolex , hence the name cyst with dot sign. 🔺 Vasculitis and dural enhancement : another form of presentation and can also manifest as stroke in some patients. Narrowing of intracranial vessels noted. 🔺Ventriculitis and hydrocephalus. 🔺Starry sky appearance : multiple calcified nodular lesions scattered in brain parenchyma mimicking stars in sky . x—————————————————————————————Dhanvantari physiotherapy centre......
