β οΈ Precautions When Using Gas Geysers
β’ Use only in well-ventilated areas
β’ Never install inside closed bathrooms
β’ Ensure a proper exhaust/chimney pipe to the outside
β’ Keep windows or exhaust fan open during use
β’ Get installation done by a certified technician
β’ Use ISI-marked / approved gas geysers and pipes
β’ Check regularly for gas leaks (gas smell = danger)
β’ Turn off immediately if you feel dizziness or headache
β’ Do not use continuously for long durations
β’ Ensure blue flame (yellow/orange flame is unsafe)
β’ Inspect exhaust pipe for blockage or damage
β’ Do annual servicing by professionals
β’ Keep flammable items away
β’ Never sleep while the geyser is running
β’ Install a carbon monoxide (CO) detector if possible
β’ Know how to quickly shut off the gas supply

Fire incidents increase in Delhi.
The instances of fire related accidents have surged significantly in the national capital amid the sweltering heatwave conditions.
The temperatures have even soared close to 50 degrees Celsius in the national capital in the last week of May. The maximum temperature still continues to soar above 45 degrees Celsius. The fire department has said that it received 2,280 fire-related calls in the first 20 days of May alone. As compared to last year, this is over 1,000 more calls compared to the last year.
Delhi Fire Services (DFS) Director Atul Garg said that they have upgraded fire servicesβ capabilities by introducing 33 cutting-edge water bowser vehicles to deal with the increased fire-related accidents.
The DFS has also added firefighting robots to its arsenal and trained more manpower to join the team. He said that short-circuits are one of the most common reasons for most fire mishaps.

In an unfortunate and tragic fire incident earlier today in a Labour housing facility in the Mangaf area of Kuwait, around 40 Indians are understood to have died and over 50 injured.
Those injured are presently admitted to 5 government hospitals (Adan, Jaber, Farwaniya, Mubarak Al Kabeer and Jahra hospitals) in Kuwait and receiving proper medical care and attention.
