Hanuman Jayanti marks the birth of Lord Hanuman and is celebrated across India. The festival falls on the full moon day in the month of Chaitra as per the Hindu calendar.

Lord Hanuman, known as Pavan Putra, is also called Ram Bhakt Hanuman as he is regarded the greatest devotee of Lord Ram. On Hanuman Jayanti, devotees chant verses from the Hanuman Chalisa and worship the idol of Lord Hanuman. They also visit temples and attend aartis.

Mahavir Jayanti is the birthday of Vardaman Mahavir also known as Mahaveer Janma Kalyanak.
Vardaman Mahavir is the 24th Tirthankara of Jain religion.
He was born in Kundalgrama in Bihar in 540 BCE.
Lord Mahavir is considered as a supreme preacher of truth and non-violence.
Teachings of Lord Mahavir are: ‘Ahimsa’ (non-violence), ‘Asteya’ (non-stealing), ‘Satya (truthfulness), ‘Brahmacharya’ (chastity) and ‘Aparigraha’ (non-attachment).The very basic principle of Jainism is Ahimsa or non - violence , the first and the most important principle of life professed by Mahaveer himself.

It is better to win ourself then to win over a million enemies.

Hola GLAins! We are excited to announce that *CodeBusters GLAU* and *IEEE WIE GLAU* are back with our annual event, *"She Codes"* - an exciting opportunity for the girls of the university to showcase their coding and web designing skills.

*She Codes* is a collaborative effort of ours, and we are committed to providing a platform where young women can display their coding prowess and creativity. This event will help participants hone their skills, gain experience, and build their portfolios, which will be an asset in their future career endeavors.

Ram Navami is an important Hindu festival, celebrated every year on the ninth day of Chaitra month (the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar) — it falls on March 30 this year. The Hindus celebrate Ram Navami to honor the birth of Lord Rama.
Ram Navami is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Rama to the king of Ayodhya, King Dasharatha.
The festival celebrates the descent of Vishnu as the Rama avatar, through his birth to King Dasharatha and Queen Kausalya in Ayodhya, Kosala. This festival is a part of the Chaitra Navaratri in the spring, and falls on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) first month in the Hindu calendar.

For all of us, Navaratri has been a long-standing custom with significant religious significance.
The first day of the Hindu calendar, it often occurs in the months of March or April. Northern India celebrates this spectacular nine-day event with tremendous fervour. This Navaratri is observed between March and April during the Shukla paksha of the Chaitra masa (Hindu calendar month). The first day of this navratri is observed as Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra and as Navreh in Kashmir.

Holi also known as the *Festival of Colours*, *Festival of Spring*, and *Festival of Love*, is one of the most popular and significant festivals in Hinduism✨. It celebrates the eternal and divine love of god Radha and Krishna.The day also signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it commemorates the victory of god Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu.

Holi is a great time to break the ice, rekindle relationships, and bond with those you care about through the use of colour.

"Holika Dahan" or "Choti Holi"

Holika Dahan, is a Hindu occasion that celebrates the legend Holika and Prahlad. Holika thought that she could use her boon(that fire cannot destroy her) to kill her nephew Prahlad and sat with him in the bonfire. However, she got burnt herself and Prahlad was saved. It precedes the occasion of Holi, the festival of colours🎨, which celebrates the spring season.
