A One Day workship cm lecture was organized in the department of English at GLA University Mathura on ‘Recent trends in language studies with focus on English.’ The lecture centered on the theme of recent trends in research in English language, literature and linguistics. The conference aimed in bringing together the academicians and researchers to focus on the thrust areas in the field of language learning and research and establishing new collaboration among the researchers.
The program was commenced with the welcome address by Dr Harvinder Negi, Coordinator, PhD program at the department of English at GLAU.
The invited speaker of the workshop was Prof. Imtiaz Hasnain, Chair Professor of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University Hyderabad. He spoke on the recent trends in studies in English and Linguistics and threw light on the possible avenues for collaborations. He emphasized comprehensive input to mind for language acquisition by reading popular folk stories. He introduced the audience to key concepts in language learning, like Krashen's learning theories, form and function correlation in learning, language landscaping, and other topics in applied linguistics. The session concluded with suggestions to the audience to read in order to learn more.

Club Literario organized "JAM" (Just n Minute!), a highlight of GLA's Got Talent . The event achieved resounding success. The esteemed panel of judges, featuring Dr. Prateek Upreti, Dr. Sohela Mukherjee, and Dr. Soham Chaudhary had the challenging task of selecting the winners.

Participants had the opportunity to perform instant activities given by the organisers, or they could dazzle the audience with a prepared one-minute performance of their own.(The activity was supposed to be related to Literature domain only).
After 2 rounds of tough competition, Kaushiki and Palak emerged as champions, securing first and second positions respectively.🏆🌟

The Department of English organised a workshop titled "Parliamentary Debate: Do's and Don'ts" on 30th September 2023.
The guest speaker at the workshop was Mr. Abhishek Kumar, who is a public speaker/debater and customer success manager at Adobe.
Previously, while working with Dell as an account manager, he completed his master’s degree in Mass Communication & Journalism. He also represented the youth of India on various state/national level forums, including the National Youth Parliament (twice).
The event was thoroughly appreciated by the students who gained important insights about communication, argumentation, and oratory.
