Here's what you need to know:
🔵 ROUND 1: August 4–17, 2026
Counselling window: 4–17 August
Last date of joining: 22 August
→ This is where the majority of seats get allocated. Most candidates join in Round 1 if they're getting their preferred choice or a reasonable college. If you rank high or have a flexible preference list, you're likely securing your seat here.
🔵 ROUND 2: August 24 – September 2, 2026
Counselling window: 24 Aug – 2 Sept
Last date of joining: 8 September
→ Round 2 catches the remaining candidates who didn't get their first choice, plus anyone who deferred from Round 1. The college options narrow, but strong seats are still available. Many candidates find their final college here.
🔵 ROUND 3: September 10–18, 2026
Counselling window: 10–18 Sept
Last date of joining: 26 September
→ This is your last chance at a mainstream seat through regular counselling. Fewer colleges, fewer choices — but if you've been waiting, this is when you lock it down. Don't miss this window.
🔵 STRAY VACANCY ROUND: September 28 – October 3, 2026
Counselling window: 28 Sept – 3 Oct
Last date of joining: 10 October
→ One more shot. If all three regular rounds didn't work out, stray vacancy opens the door again. Colleges with unfilled seats post their remaining positions, and you get one final chance to secure admission.
⏰ ACADEMIC SESSION BEGINS: 8 SEPTEMBER 2026
Your classes start in early September. If you join in Round 1 or 2, you'll be on campus before Diwali. This isn't just a schedule — it's your entry date into medical college.
