India celebrates Engineer's Day on Sep 15th

This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of the greatest Indian Engineer, Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, on September 15th every year. Engineer's Day is celebrated to pay rich tributes to Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya who was regarded as the 'Father of Modern Mysore'. As the chief engineer of Mysore, he conceived and supervised the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara Dam on the river Cauvery, India's largest river valley project at the time.
