Today, SP Friends Matric Higher Secondary School proudly gathers for a Special Assembly to celebrate the birth anniversary of one of India’s greatest visionaries—Perum Thalaivar K. Kamarajar! "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." True to these profound words, Kamarajar did not just govern; he revolutionized the future of Tamil Nadu by opening the doors of education to millions of children. 📖 The Inspiring Journey (Varalaru) of a True Leader: From Humble Roots to Greatness: Born on July 15, 1903, in Virudhunagar, Kamarajar had to drop out of school at a young age due to severe family hardships. Despite lacking formal higher education, his deep thirst for knowledge and intense patriotism led him into the heart of India's freedom struggle. The Kingmaker & Chief Minister: Rising through selfless service, he served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 1954 to 1963. Known globally as the "Kingmaker" of Indian politics, he lived a life of absolute simplicity and integrity. The Father of Education (Kalvi Thanthai): Realizing that poverty and hunger kept poor children away from classrooms, he pioneered the historic Free Midday Meal Scheme and introduced compulsory free education. He also brought in the School Uniform System to eradicate social differences among students. During his tenure, literacy rates in the state skyrocketed.
