India celebrates August 12 as Librarians Day every year in honour of Dr S.R. Ranganathan. He formulated “Five Laws of Library Science”. They are:

Lokmanya Tilak's birth anniversary..🙏

Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born on 23 July 1856. He was an Indian 🇮🇳nationalist and self-rule (Swaraj) activist in the Indian independence movement. He was one third of the Lal Bal Pal triumvirate.
The honorific "Lokmanya" (meaning "accepted by the people as their leader") was applied to him by his supporters.
He is known for his quote in Marathi: "Swaraj is my birthright and I shall have it!"

Born on May 28, 1883, in Bhagur, Maharashtra, he played a significant 🙏role in India's 🇮🇳struggle for independence and later became a leader of the Hindu 🕉️Mahasabha.
