The 12th batch of our MSc Geology programme officially began their academic journey yesterday with an orientation programme designed to familiarise students with the curriculum, academic processes, fieldwork, placement and research opportunities, mini-projects, and the integrated MScβPhD programme.
This year's cohort brings together students from across the country, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala, reflecting the growing national reach of the programme.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Prabhakar Sangurmath (Former Executive Director, Hutti Gold Mines Pvt. Ltd.), highlighted the importance of balancing classroom learning with fieldwork and encouraged students to remain curious, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of Earth system processes.
Prof. K. Balakrishna, Dean, School of Civil & Chemical Engineering, urged the students to make the most of the next two years by embracing every learning opportunity, building strong professional foundations, and striving for excellence that brings pride to themselves and the institution.
We warmly welcome the new batch and wish them every success in their academic and professional journey. ππ
