From theory to practice, strengthening educators through hands-on learning. 🔬

CFAL, in association with the Pilikula Regional Science Centre, conducted a day-long Olympiad Workshop on 13/08/2026 for Pre-University lecturers, bringing together 45 teachers from Government PU colleges across Dakshina Kannada.

The workshop was conducted by Prof. Dr. Sasikumar N. Menon and his team, with hands-on laboratory sessions on gel electrophoresis, catalase activity, and biochemical testing of glucoamylase.

In this video, Dr. Sasikumar N. Menon reflects on the experiential approach behind the laboratory sessions, where participants independently conduct experiments, analyse results, and draw conclusions.

The larger aim was to help educators take this approach back to their classrooms, enabling students to experience science beyond textbooks, and develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed for Olympiad-level learning.

A Greener Mangaluru Starts With Us. 🌱

Knowing the problem is only the first step. Action is the solution.

With only a small percentage of public spaces covered by greenery, Mangaluru needs each of us to step forward. Through AMARA, CFAL supports anyone who wants to make our city cleaner, greener, and safer.

🌳 Get a sapling.
🤝 Get our support.
💚 Plant it. Nurture it. Make a difference.

“You had to see the problem in tens of different angles, and finally, the problem clicks.”

What happens when mathematics becomes a journey of exploration rather than memorisation?

For Anvarth Bhat, a Grade 9 student and one of the top performers in the 2025–26 edition of the Search for the Next Ramanujan contest, every problem was an opportunity to think differently, explore new perspectives, and discover the joy of pure logic.

Through challenges that pushed him to look beyond conventional methods, Anvarth found a new way to experience mathematics, with curiosity, creativity, and imagination.

Back then, it was just sheer fun.

Abhhi Sannayya began his CFAL journey in Grade 3, where learning meant science kits, microscopes, hands-on experiments, and discovering concepts beyond the textbooks.

Today, he's achieved KCET Rank 8 and AIR 558 in JEE Advanced 2026.

His journey is a reminder that when learning sparks curiosity, excellence follows.
