NIRF 2021 rankings were released on 9th September 2021 by Hon’ble Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal has been placed in 10th position in the Engineering Institute rankings and the second among NITs. It has improved its position by three places in the Engineering rankings (from 13th in 2020 to 10th in 2021). This is indeed a very momentous and joyous occasion for the faculty and staff members of NITK.

Director, Prof. K. Umamaheshwar Rao congratulated and credited every member of the NITK family for this achievement. He also mentioned that sincere, selfless and committed work of faculty members, administrative officers, staff members and Students of the institute has led us to occupy this position.

Cheers to a Digital NITK!

IRIS - NITK's Student lifecycle management portal cm ERP system developed inhouse through student-faculty contributions, has been instrumental in assisting the Institute in smoothly transitioning to online teaching, learning, and assessment, during the COVID-19 pandemic. IRIS-NITK provides several modules developed in-house as well as integrations with third-party vendors and open source offerings, to enable a seamless platform for online classes, assignment submission and evaluation, online exams and grading etc.
