On 19th June, 2026, the NSS Unit of Mangaldai Commerce College successfully organized a Cleanliness Drive within and around the college campus.The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness, hygiene, and the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy surrounding.
NSS volunteers enthusiastically participated in the programme and actively engaged in cleaning activities, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility and community service.

The District Transport Office (DTO), Darrang, Assam in collaboration with the NSS Unit and IQAC, Mangaldai Commerce College successfully organized a Road Safety Awareness Programme on 15th June 2026 at Mangaldai Commerce College.
The programme aimed to educate students about traffic regulations, responsible road behaviour, and the importance of road discipline in preventing accidents and saving lives.
The event began with a welcome address by Mr. Ujjwal Jyoti Saharia, Assistant Co-ordinator, IQAC, followed by the inaugural address of Dr. Runumoni Lahkar Das, Principal, Mangaldai Commerce College, who highlighted the importance of road safety.The resource person, Mr. K. C. Rajbongshi, senior official from the District Transport Office, delivered an insightful session on road safety measures, emphasizing the use of helmets and seat belts, adherence to traffic signals, and the dangers of rash driving and mobile phone usage while driving.
Dr. Dhiren Deka, Co-ordinator, IQAC also expressed concern over the increasing number of road accidents and urged students to follow the guidelines issued by the DTO from time to time.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Sabibar Rahman, Programme Officer, NSS Unit.The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.

The Department of Commerce, Gauhati University, in collaboration with Mangaldai Commerce College and Pragjyotishpur Sahitya Sabha, successfully organized the inaugural lecture of a year-long lecture series on “Commerce in Assamese Language and Literature” on 11th June 2026 at Mangaldai Commerce College.
The lecture, themed “Relationship between Literature, Commerce and Management”, explored the meaningful connections among these disciplines. The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Prashanta Sarma, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management, Gauhati University, who emphasized the importance of promoting academic discourse in the Assamese language.
Eminent writer and Vice-President of Pragjyotishpur Sahitya Sabha, Mr. Jitumoni Sarma, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the significance of integrating commerce with Assamese language and literature.
Dr. Tilak Chandra Das, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Gauhati University, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and resource person. In his enlightening lecture, he explained how literature enhances communication skills, ethical values, and leadership qualities.
The programme was further enriched by self-composed poetry recitations by Dr. Bhababhuti Sarma, Former Vice Principal of KC Das Commerce College, Guwahati, and Mr. Ujjwal Jyoti Saharia, Assistant Coordinator, IQAC, Mangaldai Commerce College.
Chairing the session, Dr. Runumoni Lahkar Das stressed the need to preserve and promote the Assamese language in higher education and appreciated the collaborative efforts of all organizing institutions.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Minu Bora, Head, Department of Assamese, Mangaldai Commerce College. More than 80 students and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event, making the programme a grand success.
