The Department of Orthopaedics, in collaboration with the Department of Anatomy, successfully conducted a Cadaveric Hip Arthroplasty Workshop on 18 July 2026.

The workshop provided hands-on training in Total Hip Replacement (THR) using the Posterior and Direct Anterior (DAA) approaches through expert lectures, live demonstrations, panel discussions, and cadaveric dissection sessions.

The workshop enabled postgraduate trainees and consultant orthopaedic surgeons to gain practical exposure under the guidance of eminent faculty from AIIMS and other premier institutions. The programme concluded successfully, further enhancing participants' knowledge and surgical skills in hip arthroplasty.

Marked a major milestone in transfusion safety, inaugurated the Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing System (NAAT/NATS) along with an Advanced Automated Transfusion Transmissible Infections (TTI) Screening System at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Hemotherapy on 4th April 2026, by Hon’ble Executive Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh.

This is the first-of-its-kind facility in Andhra Pradesh and across AIIMS institutions in South India, ensuring safer blood and faster testing for patients.
