Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs IICA is a Think-Tank, Capacity Building and Service Delivery Institute

Set up as the premier organisation with an aim of providing astute and credible intellectual leadership in corporate regulation, governance and running sustainable businesses, IICA is a think-tank, capacity building and service delivery institute. Its work enables corporate growth, reforms and regulation through synergised knowledge management, and global partnerships thus offering real-time solut

ions. Responding to industry needs and providing a conducive and facilitative atmosphere for the development and fostering of growth of potential and skills is at the core of all IICA activities and to this end it is engaged in the rolling out of short and long term courses. The institute has in-house professors catering to various capacity development needs of the fast changing environment of the corporate world. It also invites guest faculties to address specific needs of a training module if required from reputed organisations, legal firms, MCA, etc. The key activities carried out by IICA include induction and in-service training to Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) officers, capacity-building and training programs, policy advisory functions, public outreach and stakeholder consultations through seminars, conferences and forums. IICA also supports Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) initiatives on all matters relating to Corporate Affairs. Anticipation of corporate needs for effective functioning, reviewing corporate laws for effective amendments to cater to evolving business environments, exploring new paradigms such as investor education, and periodic reviews and updating of definitions, components and activities related to corporate governance are other prominent initiatives of the institute.

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) successfully organised a sports activities for its students and other participants from 08 August 2026 to 16 August 2026.

The activities included Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Badminton Menโ€™s Singles, Badminton Womenโ€™s Singles, Badminton Menโ€™s Doubles, and Badminton Womenโ€™s Doubles.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for participants to promote fitness, teamwork, discipline, and healthy competition while showcasing their sporting talents.

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and the National Productivity Council (NPC) India, Delhi, formalised a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 12th August 2026 at Utpadakta Bhavan, New Delhi, marking an important milestone towards strengthening institutional collaboration in capacity building, research, consultancy, training, advocacy and impact assessment.

The ceremony commenced with an inaugural address by Shri Uma Shankar Prasad, Deputy Director General & Group Head (HRM), NPC, who welcomed the IICA delegates Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, DG-CEO, IICA, and (Dr) Prof Naveen Sirohi, PhD, Head, School of Finance and Management, IICA. He also outlined the key areas and potential avenues for collaboration between the institutions.

Shri Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, DG-CEO, IICA, highlighted that the MoU marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration to break down institutional silos and leverage the complementary strengths of IICA and NPC. He emphasised the need to address emerging challenges in AI, cybersecurity, ESG, CSR and MSME development, while strengthening capacity building and corporate governance. He also highlighted opportunities to support MSMEs in areas such as global supply chain integration, compliance, incorporation, access to capital and productivity, and stressed the importance of impact assessment based on proper needs assessment and evidence. He further emphasised the potential for joint engagement with State Governments, Ministries, corporates and MSMEs, leveraging NPCโ€™s regional presence and IICAโ€™s expertise to develop evidence-based research, consultancy and capacity-building initiatives aligned with national priorities.

Smt. Neerja Sekhar, DG, NPC, welcomed the partnership and recognised IICA as a prominent think tank and a premier institution in the field of corporate governance. She highlighted the potential for focused collaboration in CSR, MSME development, capacity building, research and consultancy, aligned with Government priorities. She also supported the idea of leveraging the regional presence and institutional strengths of both organisations to develop impactful initiatives in collaboration with State Governments, Ministries, corporates and MSMEs.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof (Dr) Naveen Sirohi, IICA and Shri Uma Shankar Prasad, NPC.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the presentation of mementoes, marking the commencement of a promising three-year partnership dedicated to knowledge exchange, capacity building, research, consultancy, training and institutional development.

On 13 August 2026, the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) Shillong, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairsโ€”conducted a strategic awareness webinar to promote the newly launched Corporate Mitra initiative for the youth, professionals, and enterprises of Manipur.

As the designated nodal agency for the Northeast, IICA Shillong is spearheading this state-wise outreach campaign to drive regional awareness and enrolment in the Corporate Mitra Course.

The event elicited active, wholehearted participation from local youth and MSMEs and entailed engaging discussions focused on building a highly skilled, employable workforce while equipping MSMEs for sustainable growth and market expansion. It featured an expert panel โ€“ with High-level government officials, academic leaders, and professional institute representatives collaborating to map out the schemeโ€™s local ex*****on.

The Corporate Mitra Scheme was introduced in the Union Budget 2026โ€“27 to formalize and sustain the MSME sector, especially across Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities. The initiative aims to train and accredit young graduates as "Corporate Mitras," establishing a specialized cadre of business support para-professionals in alignment with the stride towards a Viksit Bharat @ 2047
